How We Pick
Measured, not hyped. Here's exactly how our recommendations are made — and what they're based on.
Research first
Every pick starts with research: manufacturer specs, verified-owner reviews at scale, teardowns and expert breakdowns, warranty and support reputation, and patterns in long-term feedback. We weigh how a product performs against realistic use, not marketing claims.
Compared within a category
We compare products against direct alternatives, then name specific picks for specific needs — best overall, best budget, best for demanding jobs, and so on. A recommendation only makes sense relative to what else you could buy for the money.
Honest about testing
We are transparent about what our advice is based on. Our recommendations are grounded in specs, aggregated owner experience, and category expertise — we do not stage fake hands-on lab tests or invent performance numbers. If we haven't verified something, we won't pretend we have.
Kept current
Products get discontinued and replaced. We revisit our roundups and guides as the market changes so the picks stay relevant, and we remove recommendations that no longer hold up.
